General Cycling Discussion - cannondale

I was talking to a teacher about buying my bike. She says she bought one for her husband new last year which is either a 02 or 03.She says he only rode a few times but because of the bars,it hurt his back.She says,its just sitting in the garage.I think its a cannondale.Does that sound right.I say yes,those are good bikes.She says i paid $3000 for it.I ask how tall is your husband.Oh about your size.What model do you guys think it is and what do i offer.1200 bucks and i'll take it off your hands?

I suggest you look at the bike, find out everything you can about it, and then get our opinions...

it would be impossible to guess, if it was 3000 last year or this year it is a good bike. 1200 for something she paid 3000 for maybe this ear or last is quite a loss.

Thats a good idea.

Something doesn't ring true. If you bought a $3,000 bike and found it uncomfortable because of the handlebar, would you:

1. Ask the bike shop to help you adjust the fit?
2. Try different bars?
3. Sell the bike for a huge loss?

Everything is legit.Shes a teacher that always buys the best.Her husband is a cop.They got bucks.Its a 02 R3000.

Assuming it fits you and they are willing to part with it for a song, I'd certainly do it. Just seems odd that they are happy to take so great a loss.
