Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just another skinny guy who found a place to get back on the 'big guys' in the world. Mountain Road or Cross, bring on the ride or race I'm good for it. Expert mountain & Cat 2 Road.. well, just downgraded to 3 after a 4 year break. The great comeback begins....

Hello workingcat2, that's an impressive list of bikes on your profile! Uh, could you show us some photos of the Ted Wojcik Rensport? That sounds like quite a machine.
Good luck getting back into the racing, and
Welcome to BF!

I’m in the same boat as you. I raced from the age of 15 (1982), till I retired 6 years ago and picked up golf. Yeah, some may balk at golf, but how many 60-90 year old racing cyclist do you see out there? For me those 15-20 hour weeks on the bike were a total burnout especially the last 5 years racing. Racing Cat ½ for a team and just burying myself every weekend from Feb-Nov took a lot out of me. I suppose my main reason for pulling out of racing was watching teammates all of a sudden get “way better” than they “naturally” should have been. It really put a bad taste in my mouth. For now riding at the age of 40, is just a way to lose a few pounds and to stay true to my first love, cycling. BTW, I’ve been approached recently by some Masters teams but the idea of racing here in So Cal and being thrashed by the likes of Thourgh Rogers does not seem appealing anymore. WB and we’ll see you out on the road.
