So you want me to wear myself out bikeing all over Central Victoria looking for the town... before we even start riding?
Central Victoria...isn't that somewhere near the end of the earth?
Or at lest on the otherside of the black stump

I've fitted lightweight wings and a fat, course pitch propellor to the rear of my Pashley / Moulton, and if I can carry enough energy drinks on the frame, I'll be setting off to fly to Oz ASAP. Not sure if I can get it there by Saturday though. You should have given more notice. As for climbing, I just tweak the elevator lever on the handlebar and I climb like a monkey.

My mods are losely based on the following experiment, but mine has 406 wheels. I have the same crash helmet too, but not the coat and French moustache. ->

Oh - the darned picture I've linked to keeps disapeared off the net and then it re-appears a few days later. If its missing from the space above this paragraph when you look at this, it shows a wierd little French guy in a bowler hat with a bike which has wings. It seriously looks like he rode it down hill and tried to take off. I expect he was killed around 1895.

Maybe turn the next Origami run into a no holds barred folding race? Leaving all those beards, kagools and sensible cycling outfits in the dust...

I say we do this differently: one gear...mono y mono. Participants must either come with their bikes single or fixed gear, or have the derailleurs of their multi-gear rigs locked in the 52/15 position and shifter cable removed. Then we'll really see who's cuisine reigns supreme. Let's get it ON!

^^ Fixie people are NEVER scared of those with geared bikes.

Damn it, James........ I just pulled apart a 20" wheel with a 9 speed hub converted to a single speed, I was running a 58t chainring and a 14t rear, I could sit on 40kmh quite comfortably.
When I had that wheel installed I took it on a 90+km ride and found that single speed is a great way to ride...very pure and it certainly lightens the rear end up.

I'd accept the challenge...ANYTIME...just be prepared to be devoured

Ah, the beating of one's chest makes it all worthwhile

I'm just back from an hyper-urgent week-long trip to China to solve a tech problem over there... I gained almost 2kg and my climbing speed has declined, not to mention my fitness after a week of hard work and hard carousing... I swear the Jumbo had difficulty taking off in Hong Kong with my fat @rse aboard.

I also had a foot massage last night in which some leg and body massage was also included; the (very strong, not to be messed with) lady asked about my age, since my face and body didn't seem to match each other at all. She thought my body was about 35y.o. but the face at least 10y older.

I'm offended. I thought my body was only 20y.o. :D

Jur,

My grandfather was a pro rider way back in the early 20th century, (about Oppy's era), and he continued cycling as a means of transport and to keep fit, well into middle age. Later, in his 70's and older he would spin on a fixed wheel windtrainer......and yes, his body was like a 20yr old in his 50's, very low fat count indeed.
So your's should be like a 30 yrd old......as you are in your 60's?? ;)
