The story would continue, but this is the point in which they've successfully eaten your soul and destroyed you with their eye lasers.

I don't do caps, I don't know where Catford is, and they are Greyhounds, no whippets.

Closet smokers to help control their weight. They're afraid they'll gain if they stop smoking  :p

I know. Verily 'twas in jest and one does hope no afront was taken.

Catford - such a nice area (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&q=catford+greyhound&sll=51.445663,-0.021286&sspn=0.043866,0.100422&ie=UTF8&ll=51.448585,-0.023496&spn=0.005483,0.012553&t=h&z=17&iwloc=addr&om=1)

flat cap - up the proles (http://www.alancameron.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/photo-3/dig-yorky.jpg)

Now if I could just remember which comedian(s) did the "South London Whippet Fancier" sketch...

None was taken...I thought maybe you honestly didn't know.

When I lived in FL, Greyhounds were more common because there were a lot of tracks. Here in Washington, dog tracks are illegal, thus Greyhounds are not nearly as common. Whippets are more common around here than Greyhounds. I have had MANY people ask me, "Are those Whippets? Those sure are big for Whippets.".

I've heard that so much, I thought maybe you honestly thought they were Whippets.

I looked into rescuing a retired racing greyhound, but we don't have a fenced in yard and the agencies around here won't adopt out a greyhound to a house without a fence. Pitty, they are great dogs.

yeah...many of the groups are quite fussy about that. I was living in an apartment when I inquired, but was planning to move to a rental house with fenced yard. Greyhounds are still "hounds" and have that potential to run off after "prey" (the prey drive is in ANY hound), so a fence is kind of important with any hound dog.

I certainly understand the logic with regards to fences with Greyhounds being sight hounds. Still sucks though, great dogs. If our yard wasn't such an odd shape we'd put in a fence. The problem is if we put in a fence our backyard will shrink considerably. Or we follow the property line and have fence that looks like a drunk person installed it.

Yeah.....that's a bummer because they really are awesome dogs. :)
