The best I could find for a map of the SGRT was this

but it's not very clear on the entrances and exits and such. I mapped a route so I can ride to my wife's work and back (to surprise her), but would like it if any of you could look at it and tell me if I missed something like which street the entrance is on, if you have to cross a street to stay on it, etc. Thanks in advance.

Hey when are you doing this route? I've been avoiding parts of the Rio Hondo lately because of all the construction around Rosemead...I hop off at Towneway right after the tunnel near the bus station and use Merced ( a nice wide bike friendly street ) instead and hop back on the SGRT at Peck or Thienes..

I have to go up that way today...I can check on the Rio Hondo and the progress of the Rosemead Blvd construction and get back to you...?

Or maybe someone else has more current info...

The trail is also tore up from carson to wardlow. You can either ride down the side and ride on the bottowm or by pass it by getting off at carson, or willow depending on which direction you are going, and taking studebaker around the construction.

It's all down hill...it can't be that bad.

Thanks for the heads up on the contruction. I was thinking next Monday (Veteran's Day) or some time around the new year, depending on whether she'll be in the office or not. I'm a school teacher, so I have some days off that she doesn't have, and thought it might be fun to ride to see her. Maybe pick up some flowers nearby.

Crash, I do plan on riding back afterwards ;)

i would do it the other way...ending on a really long climb is so NOT fulfilling for me.

should be fun though.

I rode over there this morning...

The Rio Hondo is closed from the Rush entrance (until 2008) onwards north (Lashbrook) to heavy construction at Rosemead Blvd, a nerve wracking area to try to navigate by bike, in my opinion. Since you are looking to get over to the SGRT anyway, I would do like I suggested...get off at Towneway and avoid the whole mess.
