What is best to use for re-sticking decals which have lifted up at the edges. I would prefer something which would not cause permanent damage to original frame enamel (I assume "Super Glue" would make essentially a permanent bond to the paint - so NOT a good choice).

Also, what would be best for foil type labels such as old Mavic red & gold rim stickers which seem to suffer from edge peeling.

I'm thinking that perhaps something like old fashioned "Rubber Cement" might work for either, but don't know about longevity. Anyone have experience with any particular products? Any Pro or Con recommendations?

Tubular cement did not work that well for me in a similar circumstance

I use contact cement if the decal (not waterslide type) is still attached and curling (like a rim decal). Clean well with naptha. Use a q-tip or small paint brush to coat both surfaces. Let it get tacky before applying prressure. You can use some wax paper to push down on it.

If the decal is completely off I use photo-mount spray, which is basically the same thing in an aresol.

I've used a glue stick (like your child has for school) before and had sucess on some decals, but not on others. It was handy.

I've used 3M No. 77 sprayed into a pie tin and applied with a tiny brush on Gitane foil stickers. The excess cleans up with Goof Off.

It's applied to both surfaces and allowed to tack, like contact cement.
