Bicycle Mechanics - Help my suspension is broken

I recently bought a shogun trailbreaker MTB, it has front RST suspension forks. Recently while i was riding i herd a 'click' nat the one of the dials on the top of the fork will not tighten?????
wen i try to tighten it it does about a 1/2 rotation 'click' and keeps turing all the time with out getting tighter. Does any one no what is wrong?

maybe a stripped adjuster, especially if it is plastic. Which RST do you have?

I correct myself the RST 150 154 154E 156 and 156E is not adjustable. The plastic cap at the top is the cover for the stanchions. If it turns and turns and turns it is stripped. As far as the "click" sound wel it could be forks stanchions tapping the sliders, it copuld be the cable housing hitting the frame, it could be the headset, it could be the stem, or the bars, or the front wheel. It is a process of elimination try and get the bike to duplicate the sound while not moving by depressing the fork or rotating the bars etc.

I have found that by ajusting the nut at the bottom of the fork i can adjust the suspension...yet i still can not do it from the cap at the top of the fork (i can adjust that suspenion on the othr side from the cap).
I am not 100% sure that that they r 156E typr suspension as my bike is a demo model from thae 2004 range...not yet released and the model is not written on the forks. I am just going by last years model.

Sounds like it is time to have it rebuilt or replaced, stanctions tapping is a sure sign of a broken fork.
