Foo - Blast from the past thread

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Here's how it works....just post something (preferably a picture or link) to something you vividly remember from your childhood. It could be a toy, type of candy, TV show (youtube??), song (youtube??), whatever. That type of thing.
Big Trak (~1979) - Probably my absolute favorite toy in childhood.

Your turn.....will you post something old enough (or new enough) that many of us have to say WFT is that? :D

These two Gi Joe sets combined provided me countless hours of adventure as a kid.

One thing that really stuck in my mind, being eight years old at the time, was the Israeli entry in the 1987 Eurovision Song Contest, the song Shir Habatlanim (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxxaHlQuYeQ). The chorus and the choreography stayed with me for twenty years from that single performance in 1987. Earlier this year, I tried to find out what the song was called, and tried to find a video of it on YT. Found several, of which the one in the link above is the best out there.

F*ck me. I had one of those. I loved the thing, even if I can only vaguely remember what it did.
This is all I wanted for Christmas when I was or 4 years old.
I got it too. I love my Mom!

You used the keypad on top to "program" it. You could give it commands in sequence like "forward 10", "right 45 degrees", "forward 3", "laser 10x", etc....
It was fun to use to chase around the cats and dogs with.

As for toys, this was my all-time favorite:

O.M.G. I saw that very Eurovision Song contest on TV when I was living in Belgium! That was the year that that Johnny Logan of Ireland won with "Don't Cry (Hold Me Now)." That song really stuck with me all these years. All I have is a version taped from the radio. Incidentally, Celine Dion won the following year, representing Switzerland....

We had it on our TV for a whole weekend when my dad borrowed it from a co-worker for the weekend for us all to play.
These came in all sorts of shapes and sizes and colors - and some the made sparks!

My brother, sister, and I used to fight each other to ride this thing! :D I can remember my sister chasing my brother down on his purple Huffy coaster bike. He had to make wide turns to turn around, and she could practically turn on a dime by comparison, and keep up with him. :p Ahhhh, good times.... :)

Thank you! I was trying to describe this to my wife and I couldn't remember what it was called. I had a little truck that you stuck the Wizzer in the back and it drove it around in crazy circles. Plus the Wizzer itself was the best top ever.
Remember how it would make the RRRR-RRRR-RRRR sound? Awesome.
