Recumbent - Shimano CS 6500 compatible cassettes Question.?!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I want to swap my 11-23 Shimano CS 6500 with a 12-27 Shimano CS 6500.
I found them online on different auctions and stores, I am planning on going to the local bike shops to see if I can find a compatible cassette, in other words any other brand as long as it is 27 or higher and fits with Shimano parts.
What other compatible brands will be the same as a Shimano CS 6500?
Thanks in advance,
The Elite rider
NOTE (EDIT): Cat0020 its for a 10 speed

Just to make sure.. are you looking to replace 9 spd or 10 spd cassette?
SRAM cassette is usually compatible with Shimano freehub body.

Just about any cassette except a Campy one will fit, but I haven't had much luck getting the non-Shimano ones to shift properly using a Shimano derailleur. Now that I'm using an X-7, I should dig out a Performance cassette and give it another try.
+1 on the suggestion to make sure you get one with the right number of gears. I've seen that really mess up guys if they don't notice it!
Sram Force Rival OG-1070
I was planning on buying this one;

Its an SRAM, has a better combination as it is a 11-28T compared to the 12-27T Shimano. At the bike shop I have plenty of chain to install them.
Will it fit to anyone who may have tried? Blazing will this one work?

Just make sure whatever front/rear derailleur combination you use is capable to accomedate 28T rear cog and your chainring size differences.
This is ridiculous;
I here again and again how North California is like the mecca of cycling, that the cycling movement is very aggressive etc.
But I go to buy a Shimano or a SRAM for my bike and nowhere it is found, all the time I get the same answer of we have to order it and will be here in 7 to 10 days.
Its not as if I am going to K-Mart to the sports deparment, no LBS has any 10 speed for a common 105.
Well, I will keep looking or else just buy the one online.
Well, finally I found it and bought the SRAM 10 speed OG-1070 11-28T
WOW! What a difference, its a totally different bike, fit like a glove with no modifications at all, uninstall old one (well only 1300 miles), installed new one and thats it. It was a perfect fit, plug and play.
Thanks for all the great info!
