I have a Sachs 515 Torpedo coaster brake hub. Can I use any Sturmey/Archer shifter? More specifically the S/A Sportshift from the muscle bike erahttp://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/0/5/0/3/5/0/webimg/66019185_tp.jpg

Brompton uses the same 3sp shifter for both SRAM and SA hubs.

Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to confirm my suspicions. That sportshift does use a different cable though.

If it runs a standard AW, it must pull the same amount of cable as the normal trigger.

I don't actually know if your older Torpedo requires the same cable pull as current SRAM hubs but I expect so.

Bumping this old thread because I have (almost) the same question: will a SA 3-sp trigger work on a Sachs Torpedo Dreigang (that's German for "threespeed") hub?
