Curb feelers and glass pack mufflers.

How about I get him a purple powerband? Are those things really worth the cost? How much speed do they really add? I heard there's a secret orange one that only the pros can get. Since my kid's gonna be doing the Dew tour in no time, I should go ahead and get it now, right? That way he can get used to it early. How would I find it?

Seriously. How about a Gyro? He's not gonna be spinnin the bars anytime soon, but that linear cable looks crappy.

Hence, another quote from "New members, read this first!"by Brian our New forum Janitor:

Remember, a stupid question will most likely get you an equally stupid response."(Brian)

*Well said, Brian.

Another part from his post:
"And if you feel the need to insult someone, try to be creative."(Brian)

*Yours was weak, as of everyone here would rather prefer the comment from Smoothrecluse, that is still funny.

Question:

How about I get him a purple powerband? Are those things really worth the cost? How much speed do they really add? I heard there's a secret orange one that only the pros can get.

Your answer to the 1st Question:

If you prefer Purple for him then go for it, I think it seems like you want to get him the secret orange one so he can be just as good of better than the pro, color of the wristband is up to you.
For sure if this will be your kiddo's good luck charm then it will work and starting early with his wristbands will build him self confidence. Speed goes with the self confidence (the wristband will reinforce that) and the endurance of your kiddo.

2nd Question:

Since my kid's gonna be doing the Dew tour in no time, I should go ahead and get it now, right? That way he can get used to it early. How would I find it?

Answer to your 2nd question:

You can get those wristbands from your neighborhood office max, office depot for 4.00 per package. You can get neon yellow, orange, green, blue. Should be near the carbon copy paper the raffle tickets, coin wrapping papers .

3rd question:

Seriously. How about a Gyro? He's not gonna be spinnin the bars anytime soon, but that linear cable looks crappy.

Answer:

I posted the answer the other night under BMX for Kid, you not getting the information is totally understandable since you got him a bike. Anyways Here is your answer. you said you want the fork to spin buy these two (possibly three) components and have your local bike shop install these:
GYRO19.99
http://www.danscomp.com/510003.php

poverty freestyle lever(pair)9.99
http://www.danscomp.com/486024.php

If they can't salvage the grips then buy something like this:

Lizardskins charger grips:7.99
http://www.danscomp.com/367071.php?cat=PARTS

If you want just a thought in case the company puts a cheap "Dicta" freewheel have the bike shop change this out to an ACS claw (trust me it will be safer for him.) extra 15-20.00 but well spent for safety.

with all this information and your local bike shop you both will be able to fit your son better according for his needs.

All the info. here should answer your questions.

I'm not new to forums, I know how they work. I used the search function. Apparently, it's not on par with google!

I asked about a POWERband not a wrist band. If you don't have anything to say about a POWERband, don't waste your time responding.

As for the Gyro, I read that response AFTER I posted the question about the gyro.

congratulations, I am happy that you found your answers. You and your child may see the powerbands in action in your episodes of Tele Tubbies(Child's generation). Yours? More than likely Care bears.

If I had found my answer, I wouldn't have posted this topic. Hence, the comment that the search function isn't very good.

The only useful response I've gotten on here is a suggestion for a pair of handlebars. Nothing useful about the Gyro. I know how to find one, I wanted opinions about them.

Teletubbies, CareBears? Is that what you're keeping on the DVR? There's way better than that now days. I bet you'd like the Wiggles. Hooked on Phonics might be a better choice - they teach READING, we've all seen your lack of those skills.

I am not sure what a DVR is but ok. I apologize I don't understand your lingo. Sure whatever floats your boat. Let us know what materials you can contribute for this forum and we all will applaud to your knowledge that you can instill us.

I am quite pleased that you have found your answer and that you are able to answer me very smartly. So I leave you with this. I hope you have a Merry Christmas with your little son and that he will be overjoyed for the parts that he will be recieving on his bicycle. No sarcasm under my breath I can assure you that my wishes are sincere.

ha! If I new anything about bikes, I wouldn't be asking, I'd be answering! All I know so far is that I need to put more air pressure in the rear tire to keep my kid from getting flats every week.

Upgrade your rim strip, check the shraeder by using sputum on top of the shraeder valve and look for bubbling. Better yet just change the tire to a dirt jumping tube thicker on the bottom and upgrade your rim strips see for any sharp or loose spokes that may be poking on the rim strip also look for any thorns sticking on the tire.

You can find the flat by submerging the tube in water and pump air on it.
