Bicycle Mechanics - Joytech hub: where can I get a new freehub body?

I have a Schwinn Super Sport DBX. it's a road bike with avid discs. Per the bike specs, the rear hub is a Joy Tech sealed bearing disc 130mm w/ QR 32H. The freehub body is damaged. The shop I took it to has no distributors that carry joytech parts. I can't find any on the internet.

Any ideas on where I can get a replacement freehub body for this thing?

I'm surprised the bike shop doesn't have any distributors. Joytech is an OEM manufacturer--it is usually branded w/another name. My MTB has Quando hubs; I was told by a friend who works at a shop that it's Joytech.

It's possible also that Joytech freehubs cannot be removed, in which case you'd need a whole new hub/wheel.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

The freehub is removable. I'm just having trouble finding one. The bike shop is REI. They carry numerous brands besides their Novarra line. I'm surprised as well.

In all honesty most shops will try to sell you another wheel instead of trying to source a freehub for a joy tech hub. as previously stated, joy tech is an oem company and you typically will not be able to find parts such as freehubs.
that being said, you may want to compare your freehub to a shimano freehub. many manufactures use the shimano design freehub for their hubs.

I should be more specific. I believe the tech has removed the freehub body, but does not have a replacement. I think if he could not get it out at all, he would have told me, but I have not removed the body myself.

I've called a couple shops and have not gotten anywhere yet. I will have to keep trying.

Just e-mail and ask about a replacement hub. They only accept cash or bank transfer. Here is there Internet site.

You can look at the pictures of there hubs so you can match your hub and ask for the correct part. Be patient! It may take them a while as they have an interpreter convert English text to Taiwanese and back when they answer them.
I'm currently working on ordering a standard bulk shipment of 6-volt 3-watt EDH-1 dynamo Novatech hubs.

It's taking forever and I still don’t have approval, as there is no Joy-tech/Novatech distributor in the USA. I think Serina is trying to get me to become the Joy-tech/Novatech distributor for the USA. Starting a business is the last thing I want to do as I just retired 3 years ago and I've only just now gotten used to it!

Thanks! I will give it a shot. I've got several approaches going right now to try to fix the problem. nmanhipot from these forums is also being a big help. It's much appreciated. I never would have dreamed that getting a new freehub would be such a hassle. I called the bike store that sold the bike on ebay and asked if they could order one. The gal did not seem to understand what I was asking for, but I'm still hopeful.

Kind of late to the party but does Joytech make Campy freehub bodies?

Might be a better option to get another wheel or rebuild around, say, a Lower tier Shimano,
or, compatible hub, so the spare parts are readily available..
