We walk our dog around the neighborhood almost every night. We also have two rescued cats and had two more rescued cats that have passed on. We love cats. A couple of blocks over is a lady who obviously is a "cat lady". We weren't being nosy but could'nt help but notice that she sets out open cans of cat food in her front yard, fills a bird bath in her front yard with dry cat food, has a garage FULL of dry cat food and cat litter, has an "Adopt A Cat" bumper sticker on her SUV and when her front door used to be open there were always three or four cuties sitting at the glass door looking out. One night we saw the lady and made the mistake of talking to her about being a cat lover. Now she always closes her front door and avoids us completely. Tonight she pulled into the drive as we passed, she ran to the front door, cracked it open as little as possible to get in and shut it right behind her.
All we were trying to do was pass on how good we felt about someone taking care of our little furry friends. From now on we'll keep our mouths shut.
