Training & Nutrition - My first race is at the end of January- how do I start training?

I currently bike around 15 miles a day, 5 days a week. The cycling season here in AZ starts towards the end of January. How should I plan to train in order to be ready for the season? Weight loss? Intervals? Or just more base miles?
Thanks!

One day each week do a “quality workout” which are intervals that get shorter and more intense from now until then. The rest of the time can be terrain driven and fun (group rides etc), just “ride lots.” Take at least one day off per week.
Very roughly your quality workout from now until then could look like:
Rest of Nov: 3-5 hours endurance (It’s still an interval just low intensity and long)
Dec: 1-3 hours tempo/SST or 2 x 20min etc
Early Jan: 3-5 x 5-8min
Late Jan: 5-8 x 1min
All out sprints until quality decreases.
Race, recover, repeat

Thanks alot! That seems like a logical plan.
