I realize that most Foosters seem to be a pretty urban lot and are probably not country music fans, but if you did not see the CMA awards show last night you missed one of the best music shows EVAH!

I agree, Olebiker! Was certainly nice to see the Eagles on there. I really enjoyed it this year. Glad to see George Strait up there, too. :)

I hope so, i was at the ice hockey last night, so I went on line and asked tivo to record it, so I can watch it tonight.

No superstar tantrums this time? Faith Hill behaved herself?

Yep, I say so. Watch it if you have a chance to see a recording of it. I think even the terminally hip would be impressed.

I've still got an hour or so left to watch. The Eagles were amazing, and I gotta say that watching this show in high def last night had to be better than being there. Simply stunning.

Shame, that. It's a great place to improve your self esteem.

Probably the trick is to NOT become and employee. I have survived 38 years without having it happen to me.

It was good except for that 17 year old Swift chick pulling an Ashlee Simpson. That was painful to watch and hear.

If you haven't already, check out a movie called "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Prices", a rather enlightening movie and even if only half of it is true it's enough to keep me from ever going there again.

It will be on 800 more times this year, I am sure nothing else will be on and I will sit down and watch it. But no I didn't see it last night :)

(on the canadian country channel, they tend to repeat the awards weekly throughout the whole year until the next awards, I dislike country greatly but you can't help but watch it once, and heck with the writers on strike, it might be the only thing left on tv)

+1000 I know the words to that song, and still couldn't understand what the hell she was saying.

And what the hay-ul was up with Miranda Lambert's hair?! Looked like she got hit by lightning or something!

The kind of country music I like is hard to find in Nashville.

Miranda Lambert was schnasty. Paisley did his thing, Pickler was sweet and sentimental. George Strait is classic. I saw a glimpse of Jessica Simpson sitting in the audience - word has it her country album is to be released soon? Only watched part of it as I was busy trying to get into the Hannah Montana concert at Staples Center going on at the same time. j/k

That Pickler or whatever completely broke down and cried. Good thing she isn't Britney Spears. I guess there was a reason, but I don't know if on stage is the proper place for a break down, but whatever.

She's from Albemarle, NC. Her mom abandoned her and her dad when she was very small. Then later tried to return, but the dad threatened to kill her if she did. Pickler wrote the song to express her longing for her mother while growing up, and her eventual healing in spite of not having her mother around. I think that being there and singing that live on TV, knowing that her mother was watching from back here in NC, left her very emotional. I thought it was touching, but I knew the background story.

Sorry, dragracer. Was nice to see 'em, but I hate it that they only performed one song. You'd think they'd have been asked to sing two. :(

Too bad the real country music artists don't win..... usually it is that awful country pop crap that wins.

I would not say that the urban lot can't get into country and bluegrass music, but that country pop seriously makes me puke in my mouth a little bit.

I live in Montana. I hate country.

Theories about country music have nothing to do with where you live.

Only IQ points :D

Ahhh..I just thought she was really into her song..she didn't quite lose it until like the last verse..

Taylor is cute to watch..but damn..girl had to work on her vocalization..she sounded fine last year singing "Tim McGraw" but this year was a mess..all over the place..

Carrie was good as ever. I love her...really I do. That, Taylor, is how you sing live.

Martina is ALWAYS excellent.

Anyone else think that as Leanne Rhimes gets older..she gets more weirder looking?

What's with Jennifer Nettles haircut? I thought she was an attractive woman but damn..that cut does nothing for me..

Sara Evans. 3 words. HOT. NICE legs.

and yes...I'm an asian guy in california that loves country music. my wife thought i was weird too at first until she started listening..she likes it too now. :D

Glad I skipped that noise. My mom tried to hook me up with her back when I was 14.
