I had a slightly frustrating occurence today. I put in some 2800AH AA batteries that I thought I had charged, and they weren't. I have a crappy Uniross Express 150 wallwart charger, and I was thinking that I might like something that told me when the batteries were full, when it was only trickling, etc. I found this, and wondered if there are other features I should be looking for:

To give you a bit more info, it takes AA, AAA, C, D or PP9 cells, and can mix and match. It indicates full rate charging, trickle charging, and battery full, and can cycle cells, discharging them first, then recharging.

I have what appears to be the same charger re-branded as a Varta. It has worked just fine for the past 4 or 5 years, although it isn't extremely fast when it comes to charging. Being able to charge different cells independently is a nice feature it has, and it's cheap too.

I don't really need it to be super fast.

Then it sounds like the right solution to me!

FWIW, I'd buy mine again. But also I don't need a super high zoot charger that tells me the time and place where the batteries were made or whatever. I'm just a 'pop 'em in and charge 'em' kind of guy.

If you haven't bought a charger yet you might want to check out your local Euronics shop. I just picked up a Hama Delta Slim charger and four 2700 NiMH batteries for 10 pounds.
