I don't really get why I have to be a newbie, but I guess it is my own fault for not registering earlier. I'm relatively young (26) been riding since 18, using bikes ranging from a '76 Peugeot, a '00 Performance, a 18lbs build up and, currently, an '07 Schwinn Madison. I've used bikes for fitness, commuting, centuries, short touring, long touring, etc. I joined the forum so that I can actively participate and share my own experiences. I'm not the 'normal' rider because I'm 6' and 185' lean lbs and running is how I stay in shape- biking is how I have fun with friends and commute in a sustainable fashion. I guess now I've covered all the typical fundamental basics expected of the new members? Thanks for allowing me to jump on ship....

Welcome to Bike Forum.

I'm from Seattle ... STP ... the best way to get from Seattle to Portland. Actually, I'm 3 years young to cycling so I haven't tried it much. I mostly ride on trails, but do have a 2006 Jamis Sattelitte Road Bike which I've used on some organized rides.

I recently joined the Forum ... new to forums in general ... I'm a bit older than you so my guess is I haven't participated in these as you may have. I'll pick up the phone or send an e-mail. My 13 year old will stand in circle of half a dozen friends while they all text message each other.

Hello umarth, the newbieness goes away after a few more posts, but you can always go to your control panel, edit profile, and fill in the 'custom user title'.

Skip over to the regional forums and check in with the rest of us in the Pacific Northwest :) .

Welcome to BF!
