So, I go to JC Penney to buy a new sofa the other day. I buy said sofa and a bed frame, hoping to come back later with my friend's truck and get both of them. Nope. Both items MUST be delivered. Okay, so when can they deliver? Saturday? Sure, no porblem. Meh, okay. Just now my cell phone rings. They can't deliver them until next Thursday. The warehouse didn't deliver them to the distribution facility, so I don't get my new sofa and bed frame until next Thursday. I am SO mad.

I want my sofa. Just the thought of that sofa turns me on. Microfiber is hott! grrrrr
May they all have to come into my office or zoning variances. They will pay!!!! mwah ha ha!!

Yeah, I'm typically a very patient person. I don't complain when the pizza takes a hour and a half. You'll never see me freak out in traffic. It's just that when I wanted to pick it up in the first place, then was told I HAD to take delivery, and now will have to wait another week to get my sofa, I think I have some right to frustration...

I guess in the grand scheme of things, it's no big deal, but if I could have just picked it up, I'd be sitting on it right now.

The girl and I recently bought a big leather recliner and it wouldn't fit in my car, so we had to take delivery for it. Not an issue, we thought... It's only $25. Mind you, we had just spent well over an hour in the store finding just the right chair, then filling out their store-credit approval paperwork junk. Then they tell us there are no weekend delivery hours. The drivers work 9am-4pm, Monday through Friday.
OK, fine... I get off work early on Friday and wait around the apartment. No delivery. I call the store, and apparently the order got mixed up and put with the following Friday's set. I had late meetings scheduled that Friday and couldn't be there. Called the girl (at work) and told her the issue. She called the store and cancelled the order and said we'd find a chair someplace else since they couldn't get their stuff straight.
The sales guy and a friend of his brought our chair from the distribution center that evening. That's how much he didn't want to lose the sale.

I say you go burn the place to the ground, or at least ring the door bell at the delivery dock door and the go hide in the bushes.

No, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbDVMKOynJQ) they are not associated with JC Penney

Has that actually happened to you??? Wouldn't the pizza be cold then?

Around here, home delivery is very rarely offered. Most people just go to the pizza place and collect them themselves.

Just cancel the order and buy from someplace else. Penneys doesnt care if you're unhappy unless
you really get their attention.

yes, and yes.

If it is an hour and a half, I would have already complained. And told them that when it did arrive, I was going to send it back.

In every case, I have not been charged for the pizza. I usually still tip the driver, though. It is seldom their fault.

...Both items MUST be delivered...

I wouldn't shop anywhere that tells me I can't take the merchandise with me. That's dumb.
