Hi all.
Just wondering if anyone has any idea of the value of this bike.

It is a one owner bike purchased new in about 1986, although the owner believes it to be an 82 or so. It is equipped with Sachs New Success drivetrain, Modolo Mach 3 brakes, levers, handlebar and stem. Ambrosio Elite clinchers with Campy hubs. There are some nicks and scratches here and there, but overall, it looks good. Still has the original matching handlebar tape too. Size is 54cm.

Hello Dan,

do you know the serial number of the bike? Might be able to place it from that.
I have an 83/84 pogliaghi.
I can't get to your photo site (work blocked it).

I believe this is one of the Rossin-built Pogs, nice enough bike but not the one people give body parts to own. I'd consider it worth about what a comparably-equipt Rossin in similar condition to be worth...this one has decent components (I'd replace the Modolo stem, they are suspect) and is in very nice shape, *seems* to have a Columbus SL sticker...my guess: $400-$500 depending on where you are located (in Canada, eh?). What I'd like to pay: more like $200-$300;)

Serial number is 13992. Not real certain about that last digit, but the rest is real clear.

Yours is a bit newer than mine which is 13148.
CR list has 14342 as 1990 so I'd guess yours is about 1986?

All I know about Pog is that my cousin had a beautiful red then-new one in the summer of 1971, when I did a double metric century with him through the hills south and west of Los Altos CA. When we stopped for refreshments at a small general store, the proprietor was shocked that my cousin had paid well over $300 for a bicycle. :)

Along those same lines, I was leafing through "Bicycle Touring in Europe" yesterday, copywrited 1973, and came across the following: "The bicycle tourist usually stays in small wayside hotels or those located in moderate-sized towns. Accomodations here are usually less expensive than those in major cities, their prices usually ranging from $1 to $3 per person per night."
