Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - clyde sized knickers ?

For a couple of months now I've been looking for a pair of cycling knickers.
In the past I've made some by cutting and reshaping various type of pants,
not my forte. So I have been looking for a more tailored looking pair.
An XL is the largest most in vendor's range, this works out to a 37 or 38 in their size charts.
I've emailed or spoken with reps from all the outfits that I'm aware of that make
cycling knickers; Chrome, Swrve, Portland Cycle are a few that I can recall.
None make any larger. One vendor said "there just isn't the market for larger sizes".
My question-
Does anyone know of a maker of bigger biking britches ?
I'm looking for some decent appearing knickers, size 42 ?

only human sized knickers that I know of.

Sugoi goes up to 2X (42 waist). They will accommodate a larger waist than that though, out to about 44-45 inches ;), as well :D

It's pushing the limits, but Ibex knickers are most excellent and their XXL is listed as 40. The market is limited because folks who cycle seriously for any length of time tend not to be huge for long.

I have been using their shorts for years. The XXL is listed as fitting a 36 relaxed and 42 when stretched but when my waist hit 47 a while back they still fit (back down to 40 now). The problem I have is the thigh openings, luckily they stretch in that area as well so the shorts are fairly comfortable on long rides in the saddle.

I also have a couple pairs of Zoic shorts in a size XL that say they fit up to 39 but once again, they fit my gut up until 43. They do make a XXL that fits up to 44 so I would guess they would fit snugly up to 46 or so.

I forgot to mention, one company I have not tried yet but intend to is HOSS. They have a XXXL that fits up to a 45" waist. and is fairly reasonably priced compared to other companies

I pretty much end up living in these, and I usually wear padded cycling shorts underneath. I recently tried these underneath, and have been happy:

The thing is, I'd rather just get another set of the nicer Aerotech shorts for a few bucks more, and have something I can wear by itself as well. :)

I've also been investigating modifying some wool slacks into knickers - adding a gusset, buttons or velcro to gather the hem, and lowering the front. I've had some luck with Ben Davis type pants, but I'm not crazy about the fabric.

Check out Boure in Durango ... not cheap, but very high quality. Their size charts go to 3xl at a 46, but the drop downs on the knicker page only go to 2x at a 42? I know they specialize in custimization so if you needed it I'm sure they could do it. http://www.boure.com/knickersmen.html

I do have a custom sized set of pro bibs from them with XL waist/hips and L legs that are excellent. I don't have any of their knicks, but knicks are my favorite in cool weather down to the low 40's.
