Hello,

I'm jonsing for a ride, I've pulled my bike out of the car for a ride and I had forgotten to put the safety mount between the front brake pads (after I had taken the front wheel off) and the gap between to brakes pads is around 2-3mm... not enough for the rotor to fit into. I must have squeezed them at some point with the wheel off

how the hell do I get the gap open again?

Thanks

Matt

Stick a screwdriver, or similar tool, between the pads and carefully pry them apart. That's all there is to it. Just be sure to use only as much pressure as you need to get them to move and don't move the tool around. If you don't work the tool around too much your pads will be just fine.

it doesn't sound like you have enough room to take a pad out so grab a flat head screwdriver and insert it into the gap without using too much force.

edit: what ^^^ said
