Introductions - Newbie

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I guess I'll do this first so everyone can kinda laugh at me. I work for public service and can't afford expensive bikes. I own a 2001 Roadmaster 18 speed MTB (yeah I got it from Wal-Mart) and hopefully soon will own a 1970's or 80's Schwinn Road bike (Not too sure about it my parents bought it many many years ago). I came across this site while searching for road bike stuff to try and refurbish the Schwinn and this site will probably help me. On top of the fact I have a bunch of other questions too. Well hi anyway and please don't laugh too hard.

Welcome! Don't feel bad; 90% is the rider, not the machine. As your cash flow improves, move up the food chain. Until then, ride and enjoy.
