...how much difference is there between these two forks in terms of quality? Any? I've heard that the tubing on the Soma frame is of higher quality, but I don't know if that applies to the fork. Thanks for any info.

The Surly frame and fork are made with 4130 tubing.

The Soma frame is made with Tange Prestige tubing, the fork that goes with it is the Tange T-2402 made with Tange Infinity.

Both forks have nice lugged sloping crowns.
