Advocacy & Safety - comparative safety of cycling, driving (& other activities)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Follow this link and just check out the chart. Supposing faith in its accuracy, i think this is the only defence ever needed against "you're going to get yourself killed!" challenges.

Also worth noting, i think, is the last, that is, safest item, in the list. Hunting is another common activity that keeps a reputation for being undeniably dangerous, simply for the one or two high-profile horror stories everybody's heard about hunters killing each other in overzealous trigger pulling, although it's based nearly entirely on stereotype and unfamiliarity.

Perhaps some of you have seen this site before, but i know it was like a victory symphony to me when i found it this afternoon...

PEACE! to you, brothers and sisters.

I hunt and I work with all non-hunters.

We are having a day long hike as a team building activity on the last day of firearms deer season at a local conservation area.

Everyone is scared that we will get shot even though there is no way that is going to happen. One of my coworkers even called hunters "drunks" in her attempt to get the date changed.

So if I bicycle instead of live, I'm less likely to die.
