Cyclocross - recommend a CX wheel that can also tour?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hi,
I am posting this question in the touring forum as well, but basically I am looking to build a single, awesome wheelset to use in the woods around home, as well as on my touring rig. This is not for racing, but pure fun. I weigh about 150lbs, so I was thinking 36spokes and maybe phil wood hubs? I have no idea when it comes to rims, but can anyone recommend one that can take some hard knocks on douglas fir roots? I would prefer to build them myself, but if there is a pre built wheel someone can recommend ( that I can get from QBP ), that would be cool too. Thanks!

Deore hubs on Mavic A319 rims should do the trick :) The Mavic rims are not a great deal heavier than a light road rim, but are wider to suit touring tyres.
