LeMond signed an agreement for Trek to build, design, and sell LeMond bicycles in 1992. I believe LeMond still owns the company but that's probably no longer true.
LeMond started his company in 1990.

If you write Trek for info on early Lemond bikes they will tell you they have no info prior to Trek's ownership/manufacturing in 1996. In reference to "Lemond started his company in 1990", Lemond bikes were being made prior to this. Whether it was his company? Everything I've found out is they were made from the Late eighties and then into the early nineties being imported and sold by Ten Speed Drive Imports. After TSDI's demise in the early nineties his dad tried to continue the company then stepped down and let someone else take over. There were a couple other partnerships and ventures with others depending on frame material but I've heard they weren't real succesful and then Trek came along shortly before 1996. This is not First hand knowledge of the bikes, but info I've aquired over the past couple years while I built up a Lemond NOS 1989 Billato frame. Though the majority of the info I did get was from someone that did.
