Sorry if this is a little off-topic, but I couldn't think of anywhere else to ask. One of my regular training rides goes up to the Redwood City Cross (a giant Christian cross on California Way in the hills above Redwood City). I am not aware of any signs in the area saying who built the cross or who owns it or why. I couldn't find anything with Google or Yahoo, either, other than several bike routes that go up there. Does anyone know this history of the Redwood City Cross? Anything at all would be interesting. Thanks.

fyi - I bikes up there again yesterday and there was a herd of goats in the field beneath the cross. I guess someone is using an organic lawn mowing technique. Kind of cute.

Its called the Emerald Hills Easter Cross. The area is called Emerald Hills:

There are quite a few short and steep hills in this area which makes for some nice riding.

Thanks for links. Interesting that neither of them says exactly who built the cross or who owns it now.
