deer season yup. First time I was there I saw bunch of them on the tops in the corners. Never heard a shot all day so they were just wasting time.
I was alone riding up there a couple of years ago when I encountered about 4 guys with BIG COMPOUND BOWS! Just looking at them hurt! I had some 'Deliverance' visions run thru my head but I did somehow managed to pick up the pace a couple of MPH!:D
I saw a ranger with two of them on the side of the road in full camo with monster compound bows. The ranger was writing what I gathered was a ticket. The brush is so thick up there, I don't see how they can get far from the road.
a couple years ago I saw some guys trying to tie a deer to a huffy so that it's hind feet were on the pedals and front on the bars. I think they wanted to try to ride it like that up to the village (the road was closed). When I came back down they had it turned around over the bike and were all walking their bikes up the hill.
Yes, there's a minimum distance you can shoot from a road. The definition of "road" is what can be the deciding factor. If it's paved, then it fits the description. Unpaved fire "roads" can be hunted from.
Yeah i was up on GMR yesterday afternoon and saw afew people with camo and hunting gear. I did see a deer back in june while coming downhill once. It lept over the edge when i got close.
When were you up there? I was wearing white jersey going up GMR round 1ish.
