Hello all,
I have been a pretty serious backpacker traveler for ages, and a big fan of cycling for even longer, but somehow it never dawned on me to combine the two until now. Better late than never! So in January 2008 I will embark on a 3.5 month cycle touring trip in Chile and Argentina, going to the remote southern parts (Patagonia), including guerrilla (roadside) camping. Every winter will be a different part of the globe, to experience and enjoy this wonderful fluke of existence called planet earth.
Very fortunately for me, I have my own home-based business that shuts down over the winter, and I live car-less and modestly enough to allow me to take winters off to travel.
I just bought a Kona, 2008 Jake the Snake (cyclo-cross). I hope this will allow me to tour on rougher roads as well.
I am really looking forward to learning from all of you out there to make the most of my cycling adventures. Many thanks in advance.
Cheers,
-Frank-
