Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - Fenix L2D Q5 - Smooth Or Textured Reflector?

Can anyone explain the differences as they would effect a cyclist between the textured ('orange peel') and the smooth reflectors in these lights? Thanks.

What is an orange peel reflector?
The surface of the reflector resemble a surface of an orange peel.
Perfect for inspecting for small cracks in metal parts, aircraft, and other critical assemblies. Also great for camping, hiking or use for general flashlight tasks.
Some say it eliminates the dark donut holes that the Cree LED flashlight creates and make the beam more softer.

I'd go for the textured reflector. The "dark" donut rings are definitely evident with my smooth reflector. I've put dark in inverted commas because I remember somewhere on the Candle Power Forum someone took some beam shots. The dark bits aren't actually dark but it's just compared to the bright centre spot that they are dark. An optical illusion of sorts. But it is annoying and I wish the orange peel reflectors were available when I was buying my L2D. However, as mentioned above it decrease the overall throw of the light.

for general bike lighting I'd go with the Orange Peel.
if you plan to use it on your helmet...the smooth maybe better (hoping you already have a main light)

very nice spread of lite, easy on the eyes, no hot spots, very very useable spill.

the Fenix orange peel reflector is the best bike lite beam pattern I have seen, bar none, imho.

Where can I buy one of these? The fenix store only has older models with textured reflectors.
