I would really like to run in this but I don't know about the no brakes rule. Is the area pretty hilly?

TimArchy

Isn't macon pretty hilly? I don't think it's any worse.

I wouldn't reccomend taking your brake off just to race.

jdeane4

Yeah, Macon has some decent hills, but I don't ride brake less in Macon. So I really don't want to ride brake less somewhere I haven't rode much. I just like having it for those emergency needs. I was just wondering if those rules were literal. Oh well, I am heading up to ATL tomorrow and I will stop in at No Brakes to check out what the route and rules are.

somebody come get me and I will ride!!!

TimArchy

knowing them, the rules are real. They've been talking about a no brakes race for a while.

When ever I went up to Atlanta last weekend, I stopped in at "No Brakes" and they did clarify that the race is fixed only and no brakes allowed. It seems like it will be pretty cool, but I don't know if I will be available now to ride in it. We'll see

TimArchy

Doing a "no brakes" race does weed out a lot of people who would want to ride, but it'll be the first one like that in atlanta.

Stay tuned for Broken Hearts IV in Feb. A benefit for the Sopo Bike Coop. It is always a good race. I usually plan the route but I'm out of the country so my good friend is planning it. She'll make it cool.

Man, I just got back from ATL doing the "Major Taylor" event. The bike shop "No Brakes" held a surprise b-day bash for this kid who rides in ATL and it was pretty good event. We had a pretty good turn out and it appears there will be a real good turnout for the Mash ride. Also, word is that there will be a Mash rider at the ATL Mash Show. So if anyone is close enough to ATL, come on out.

Stellar.

Broken Hearts IV will be the shiz. The checkpoints will blow your mind, trust me. :)

See ya at Thrash N MASH!

c0urt

ok who is definitely going to be here ?

jdeane4

I will be there and two others from Macon. All the guys from "No Brakes" and I would say at least 20-30 other riders. One of the Mash SF riders will be there as well(hopefully). The race is going to be intense. I don't think I am riding in the race, but I will be riding leisurely and at a fun pace from the "No Brakes" shop to the bar where the premiere is being held. Its going to be a good time no doubt. Seriously cOurt, you should come out.
