I really mean it when I say I'll miss riding with ya. :) I wish you were coming with us although the fog outside sure looks wet.:( We should be through it by the time we reach Sundland I hope. Happy Thanksgiving. There really is a lot to be thankful for.

Be careful in the fog. You know, you could always join me as I ride up to the Rose Bowl. I realize that there is no hill in your speak below the San Gabriels, but you'd at least miss the fog. ;)

And yes, there is a lot to be thankful for. :) I think I'll start a thread before I head out...

You see ME? I'm back home in Pasadena and it's noon.. and I was the slowest one in the group.

The fog in the morning was scary in La Canada. I rode in the gutter sometimes just to avoid being hit. There was no fog in Tujunga, though.

Then there was a running race on Foothill Blvd so I tried to go around on Descanso but still ran into the course and did not have time to jump down to Honolulu. An officer told me to just ride on the left side of the course. Bad idea! It turned out it was an out and back race and the race leaders were heading back on that side at probably 10-15 mph, so I had to either disrupt their race or ride on the single open traffic lane which was going the other direction!

I still made it on time and wow what a big crowd there was! I think I counted around 20 riders at the start. Thanks to Vertical Bob and Valley Girl for sticking with me when I flatted (I like Bob's pump better anyway). With all the hitched out of the way, the rest of the ride was great from then on. Hope to see some of you guys on Fri or Sat too!

Um...YOU were home at noon. Had I ridden with you, I would still be driving from Pasadena to Sherman Oaks right now. I did 50 miles and got back at 11:39am. Yes, fog was very scary and it never really let up until I got back to Sherman Oaks. Glad you guys had a good ride. :)

I parked at the bottom of AC and rode to Oro Vista with Carrie. We were finished at 11:30. A nice, quick ride for Thanksgiving.

The police didn't seem to have a clue what was going on with the runners. There was a single lane on the right side going in the correct direction that I rode in until a sheriff directed me into the lane with the runners. I asked the next officer I saw (as I was now approaching the back end of the runners) if I could move back into the traffic lane and he said "Of course" and gave me the "that's where you're supposed to be riding" look.

It was a great group to ride with, I really should do more rides with them.

Oh, and I was home at 11:40 and I'm practically in Arcadia. :D

Oh, stop that. No, I don't see! And stop rubbing it in. I rode 50 solo, lonely miles today, isn't that enough? :p

That was a nice turn out, it is always good to see friends. Stan ,Dave, and I have been doing this ride on T day for years and now we have some company, Yay. To quote JP, "now I'm hungry"

I'm not really in Pasadena, I'm in between, but I'm closer to Arcadia proper than Pasadena proper.

BTW, I'm sore now and that's the first time in a while I've been in pain after a ride. I think it's cause I started working out at the gym, though, and did leg stuff on Tuesday.

Time to medicate...

Well, at least you did 50 miles solo ... for some people, it takes lots of motivation to do that many miles solo. But at least you got some miles in ... I didn't get any in. I'll do some tomorrow.

Well, I'm glad you had a nice ride, Bob. I thought about you guys when I was out lonely. ;) You'll think me slumming it as the only little tiny hill I climbed was Chevy Chase Canyon. :p

Oh, 50 solo is easy. I think through things. However, 80 is tough and I suspect 100 is no fun (I've never ridden 100 truly solo). But sometimes, you got to do what ya got to do.

That was a nice little ride, very brisk for most of the way.
Got to see and chat with JP , probably first time since the Grand Tour.
Saw UrbanKnight at Clear Creek, first time in at least a year.

Great weather, discounting a little fog here and there.
A nice reminder of the New Year's Mt. Wilson ride that's just around the corner.

Maybe ME will manage to fit that one in??:)

I need to kick myself into shape. Mt. Wilson seems like a nice goal. The last time I went to Upper Big T, I was wiped out at the end.
