I am looking at getting a Felt S22 after getting bit by the triathlon bug this summer. But my LBS can only give me a sale price of $1869.99 for the '07 and the list on the '08 is $1999.99. Is upgrading to the '08 really going to be much different? They didn't have one in stock yet so I haven't had the chance to ride the '08 yet. Has much changed in the last year that is worth the extra $130 other than the color scheme? What would you recommend? Thanks for your time.

Hmmm. I've been thinking about what I would do when the time comes to switch from the roadie to a true tri-geometry. I've really only been looking at bikes <$2000 and if I were buying right now the Kuota K-factor would be the way I would go. I've seen Ultegra/105 mixes for $1800 - $1900. That would give you a carbon fiber frame that you could build on in the future. At least that's what I've been thinking. Honestly, I don't know anything about the S22, other than folks seem to like their Felts, so I'm sure it's probably a solid bike too.

For the extra $130, you get 40mm deep v wheels, training or racing, beats the heck out of the stock 2007. That and you get a white bike that will really stand out in the transition are : )

Well I did it. I broke down and used my hard earned college cash to put the bike on layaway. Iowa winters are hard to do any riding, so I'll let them store it for me until it warms up. I went with the stealth looking Black 2007 Felt S22. With a college budget I decided to use the extra money towards, pedals, computer, etc... so that was the deciding factor. It was love at first ride, now I can't wait till I actually will get to put some miles on it!!

Congrats, it is one great looking bike, I had one the older S25s and loved it.

The stock 08 bike is about 1 1/2 pounds lighter than the stock 07
