In March 2007, me (Gizem) and my husband (Bryan) sold our earthly possessions in Los Angeles and started a cycling trip around the world. We started in the flattest country possible, The Netherlands and after crossing 10 countries and arriving in Turkey, we decided that we wanted this to be more than just a trip. So we are now working with TEMA, the largest environmental company in Turkey, to raise awareness of global warming (http://english.tema.org.tr/index.htm).
Along the 27,000 kms and 17 countries, we will be working with several environmental NGOs (thanks to our contacts provided by TEMA) to inform people of the climate change and to encourage individual responsibility. We are looking for sponsors for the cause; financial, equipment and spiritual... We will have a website in Turkish and English which we will update regularly (we will have a laptop and gprs) and we will promote our sponsors. My profession is PR and I will be publicising the tour in both Turkish and American media.
17 months is a long time and our budget is spread thin. Any help/ideas will be very much appreciated. This is also a great opportunity for American companies doing business in Turkey and/or Central Asia, SE Asia. Even if you can't help, please forward this to someone who may.

Thanks,
Gizem
