Hello, Bike Forums.
I've been riding year round in West Michigan for the last two years. I started with a '70s model Ross that I got for free from a guy I work with. This past summer I switched to a more recent Schwinn LeTour that I got from my uncle. Then, I hacked up the Ross, painted it and converted it to a single speed. In the heavier snow I have a Huffy mountain bike that I traded a few stereo speakers and paintings for.
My ride to work is around 5 miles but the hills can be a pain in the snow. I probably average around 60 miles a week not including the ride to work and back.
I'm more of an anarchist DIY rider and haven't spent more than $100 for a bike or parts yet. But I look forward to checking out the forums (winter riding especially) to maybe get some tips on decent gear, designs and modifications.
Nice to meet you all.
