Introductions - New to Tango (Sorry, Tandem)
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am almost new to the Tandem world since i have not got my ride yet. I am from San Antonio, Texas, and have been riding a single (consistenly) for about a year and a half now. I decided to rent a tandem a couple a weeks ago to see if my wife would enjoy biking as much as i do. To my total surprise she absolutely loved it and rode 22 miles with me. She has only riden her bike three time in the last year or so for a grand total of about 10 miles. So, you can understand my surprise when she rode 22 miles in what i can say was a perfect day. She liked it so much we went and order an 08 C'dale tandem. It should be here around December 15. I found a lot of useful articles and great advice on this forum, so Thank you very much. I believe i (we) will be regulars on this site.

Pictures please, of the wife and tandem that is. Be very respectful of her comfort zone. My wife is really upset by fast downhills. Let her decide if you two should have matching outfits.
Nothing wrong with tango either. Take her to some place where they do Argentine Tango and she may like that as much as tandems.

There are tandem specific websites that list rides for tandems and families-best time! I made some mistakes with my wife-stoker, but now the kids are great riders. it is great riding with other tandems also, good company and a way to pass the miles.
