Just purchased a Brooks Professional saddle a week ago and needless to say it's not worked in yet. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the pants I'm using. They've got 10mm of padding in the butt area and I'm wondering if this is causing a bit of chafing.

I guess my general question is what type of pants do people wear and how much padding does it have. And for a saddle like the Brooks, does it make any sense to use pants with little or no padding, since the saddle is supposed to adjust to your shape?

Thanks,

Bill

You want lycra cycling shorts, with a pad. The Pro is intended for serious roadies (racers and such). If you have a more upright position you may have better luck with the B17.

You can also use baggies with a pad inside.

What are you wearing? Diapers? That's a lot of padding...

You're not going to get the saddle to adjust to your shape with that much padding in the way. Consider shorts with a thinner padded section.
