Replacement cranks for the prodigyXC. Same price same quality i presume. The EvolveDH model is exactly the same as the prodigy DH whereas the EvolveXC depicted in the pic is a restyled and maybe lighter prodigy. Do you like this new style?

I would use it, probably better then my old lx cranks :D
I still like the Turbine LP design better.

I dont like the fact that Turbines have a price 2.5 times bigger than the prodigies or XT.

I hear you. However, they *are* stronger and a lot less flexy. I think they are worth the extra scratch. It's only money. :)

having a 2000$ bike i am in no intention to go budget. But for just a piece of allu ...i wont spend more than 200$. For the price of Turbines i would go for profiles or XTR or Saint. Paying 500$ for a fork is ok for me. 500$ for discs ok. 500$ for wheels ok again....but cranks for 400$ not ok.
No comparison man, XTR is $450, Turbines are $200 on Pricepoint (with the BB).

In the Uk where i live Turbines cost 450$ same as XTR . 240 british sterlings with rings. So the comparison is very fair and square.

2004 Diabolus crank and bb. Kit wreckers huckers and heavy riders (thats me) rejoice!!!!!
The new Diabolus cranks are simply beautiful.
/* sigh */
I have RaceFace Turbines (taper... mated to RaceFace Ti BB) from 1999/2000 and they've performed flawlessly. I love their look too. I have been drooling over the Next cranks for almost four years now. The problem with RaceFace components is that they last so long, work so great, look so wonderful that it's hard to justify upgrading even within the same brand. I'd feel guilty about replacing my Turbines.
BTW, I do agree that RaceFace prices can be a little steep but given the choice between RaceFace and Shimano, I'll go with RaceFace every time.

I agree khuon. Although prices in the UK are veeeery high for the turbines i ll go for the prodigy line or the evolve or the diabolus if the price is right on this last one. Turbines are 450$ in the UK and prodigies 150$ so its a HUGE price gap. I am really looking forward to taste this long lasting performance with the prodigy cranks :D:D:D
Would Pricepoint ship internationally? There's a $250 difference ...

It does but! it charges almost 80$ for overseas shipping, plus there is a high possibility to pay import tax at the customs since its EU vs USA so i am most likely bound to pay the same price in the long run. I guess that i ll have to go for the prodigies/evolve or the diabolus if the price and weight are within reasonable range. Chi do you have turbines as well?
No I don't, but I'm considering buying them soon ... I need to correct a chainline problem on my ride.
A friend with a Klein Mantra has some taper Turbines on his, and as soon as he gets back from Northstar I'll ask him how the new cranks did. :D

cool i guess that i ll have to go with prodigies. 6000 allu rather than 7000.
And the Turbines aren't light either ... Shimano XT cranks are lighter by comparison.
