Ive been riding around with 2 in my bag for awhile now. Im thinking the second one isnt necessary. After a run of bad luck with flats, I started carrying an extra one. My luck has been better of late. How many extra tubes do you carry?

I carry 1 tube, 'glueless' patches, tire levers, a small square of sandpaper,a CO2 inflator, and three cartridges. The hardware is kept in one baggie, the tube in another. I keep them in a seat bag along with a baggie having emergency info, copy of driver's license, copy of insurance card, and a few $. Leaves room in my bag for cell phone and garage door opener.

Ditto - except I used one of my CO2 inflators, so now I'm riding with only 2. I need to get a few more!
I have one tube, patches, tire levers, muti-tool kit in my bag with room for a key and my cell phone. I have a pump mounted on my bottle cage mount. When I start doing sprint tri's or any bike races, I will take off the pump and put a CO2 inflator in my jersey pocket.

Two tubes and two tire levers.
1 tube, 1 glueless patch kit (that reminds me... time for fresh patches), 2 x CO2, a piece of Clif Bar wrapper (for temporary "patching" of large slashes) and a cell phone (to call home if those supplies aren't enough).

Particularily when commuting to work. Three tubes, a patch kit, a tire patch kit, a trusty pump. On long tours, I even carry an extra foldable tire. Extra spokes and a multi tool. From adventure cycling I even have a condensed repair book for common emergency repairs touches on subjects like bent derailleurs, etc. Book is Small enough to fit in a seat wedge.
I carry 2 tubes, CO2 inflater & spare cartridge, small pump in pack and lots of good luck, I hope! lol And always my fully charged cell phone.

D@mn! I had to check my saddle bag to see if Rich had ripped me off! ;)
I carry a Rema patch kit, two tire levers instead of the speed lever. First flat I replace the tube, subsequent flats I use patches. Some flats are unpatchable (stem tears and blow-offs). With sufficient care, both can be avoided. The Road Morph is capable of pumping tires up to ~120psi.

I carry 2 tubes a lever and a glue patch kit. A few weeks ago I went through both tubes and had to resort to patching a tube. What a ride that was.

your luck in directly proportional to how many tubes you carry. if you reduce the number of tubes in your bag, your luck will decrease too... :(
me, i've got a tube and a patch kit and one of those wacky Speed Levers (instead of tire irons, works like a champ), and a multitool. since we're all comparing the contents of our wedges.
I carry one tube, a patchkit and a CO2 inflator with 2 cartridges. The inflator is mounted to my bike via a holder that attaches to my front bottlecage mount and also holds a spare cartridge.

My Topeak Alien multi-minitool sits in my little seatpack along with a small bottle of lube and a spare link for my chain. That pretty much fills the pack. My spare tube is snugged into the external bungie of the seatpack.

I keep the patchkit which is really just a set of patches, small tube of vulcanizing fluid and a little strip of sandpaper in my First Aid Kit which is sort of appropriate if you think about it. BTW, I found what I consider the perfect mini First Aid Kit for cycling. It is slim and compact and holds all the essentials except for some Advil which I added.

It is made by First Aid Only (http://www.firstaidonly.com/) and measures 4-3/4"x3-3/4"x1/2" which fits perfectly into a jersey pocket, hydration pack or some seatpacks. I got it at a local discount department store but you can also get it from some online stores such as this one (http://www.first-aid-product.com/consumer/fa112.htm).

fixer, that seat post is tight! I like it. anyway, I usually carry 1 tube, a patch kit, a couple of bucks, a speedlever, and of course, a cell phone. I doubt I woudl ever use the patch kit. I have never flatted twice on a ride, but I think that if I did, I would just give up and call my mom to pick me up.
no tubes here...
I do carry a patch kit...
and a celphone.. I call a "support vehicle" to pick me, and my bike, up if i get a flat unrepairable with patches..:D

Riding a bent I have 2 tubes, one for each wheel size and I carry a 26" (probably the most common size around here) just in case I meet someone that needs one.

That's a nifty contration. Where did you find it?
2 tubes, 3 CO2 cart. 1 Park Multi Tool & a $10 bill. Cell phone in the back pocket of my jersey. (I was actually just out with Greg, and we each had a flat. He was carrying nothing but his cell phone on that ride). Flats Happen!!! ;)

It's the SKS AirGun (http://www.sks-germany.com/final2001/low-quality/pr_airgun_e.htm). If you find you'd like to carry more than two cartridges in such a fashion, you can also get one of these from Minoura to attach to another bottlecage mountpoint.
