• What is the benefit of the single wheel setup vs. a more traditional side-by-side 2 wheeled design?
• Could it be made lighter?
• How will the plastic tote attach to the trailer frame?

Lower rolling resistance of one wheel Vs two, potential for extremely low drag with the right cargo box(perfect match for a recumbent), more stable over rough terrain as it can't roll over like a 2 wheel trailer, can get through narrower gaps.

• Could it be made lighter?
Yes, as light as you want.... with enough $$$ you could build a monocoq carbon fibre chassis that weighs virtually nothing. In aluminum you could get a very nice strength/weight/cost ratio.

• How will the plastic tote attach to the trailer frame?
All will be revealed....

Nice I am very interested in this project. Is there going to be more info on how you are going to attach it to the bike?

Sure, how much detail would you like?

I have two ideas for the attachment. I'm building one now, but I'll have to build another trailer to try out the other idea as it involves a major change to the trailer chassis. I have enough bits to build the second trailer as a 26" wheeled all-terrain trailer, maybe incorporate suspension If I can find a full suspension bike to cannibalise.
