I have a FSA Gossamer crankset and I ordered some cool-looking Super Road chainrings (the type found on the K-Force model), but two of the five 4mm Allen wrench chainring bolts were stubborn and I kind of stripped them.:o

Any pointers on how to remove the two toughies? Some kind of screw extractor (I could always order new chainring bolts). Thanks

Try loosening it from the other side while applying pressure to the stripped bolt. It'll either be a slot or a hex. Might work.

Before you do this, put the rest of the old bolts back in and tighten them down. This will take a bit of the pressure off of the stripped bolts.

Dremel a slot in the head? Or drill out the head. Or screw extractor.

I ordered a new set of fsa bolts which comes with a slightly weird looking "T30" torque wrench-maybe a different config than a standard 4mm hex wrench?

Thanks for the tip. I was able to see the inside bolt pattern in broad daylight this morning and stuck a 6mm Allen wrench in their and they all removed easily!

I guess the bigger diameter slot has more leverage. I'm still going to install the new bolts when they come it because the two 4mm outers are gouged-out...:o

Good idea. I grease the threads on my clipless pedals and on my fixie's rear cog (those are a ******* to get off if you don't!):D
