I need to oil my chain and derailers but honestly I think just squirting the stuff randomly seems insane. Could someone please share some wisdom? Are there particular points I need to look for or a site that shows how best to do this?
basic, I know!

Arrgh... Which religion is best?...

www.sheldonbrown.com (http://www.sheldonbrown.com) He has a good section on chain wear and lube.

When I practiced old school methods, I melted paraffin in a double boiler and soaked my chain in it. It keeps the chain lubricated and clean. Just be sure you're outside when you try to straighten out the chain, or you may have issues with your wife.

:D

Now that I have kids, I'm lazier. White Lightning works for me.
