About time. The dude would have been an automatic Hall of Fame shoo-in without roids too. Great player. Massive head case.
I was very angry tonight after the indictment. WTF? The Feds couldn't have brought this case last March? Give me a friggin break. All the evidence in this matter is like five years old. Instead they jerked around until Bonds broke the Aaron record making this situation much more painful for the entire nation. I just don't get that. Does anybody? Does anybody get anything the Feds ever do about anything in the past 6 years?
I didn't think so.
This indictment effectively ends Bond's career. It should have ended before this season ever started.

nah, Aaron has stayed classy throughout this whole disgrace, possibly too much so. I hope the MLB strips bond's tittle so the real legend can stay above this muck where he belongs.

It already has. The collectible ball for his record breaking HR was sent to Cooperstown with an asterisk emblazoned on it after fans voted to do so on the Internet and the owner of the ball complied. You bet it will have an impact on his baseball records. Stay tuned.
Barry Bonds ... is he that candy armed left fielder that choked in the playoffs year after year, couldnt throw out a crippled Sid Bream at the plate from deep short, on a hard hit ground ball, when Sid was trying to score from 2nd?

The same. Mr. April is what we called him Pittsburgh.

He lied about saying he did not knowing take PEDs and Gary Anderson didn't inject him. ESPN reported that there is evidence from the BALCO investigation that Barry did failure a BALCO test for PEDs. Barry this whole time has been saying he has never failed a Baseball test, but that is only part of the truth.

What, no forgiveness? doping in sports? ridiculous. Barry was framed by the French and Canadians, with Dick Pound. The lab that tested Bonds needs to be investigated, as well as anyone who accused Bonds who was molested. Barry should write a book, start a defense fund and get working on his appeal. I'm going to donate to Free Barry. While he's at it, he should play the race card and blame everything in is life on that testing lab.

Where's the positive dope test on Armstrong? Right. There aren't any. They have those on Bonds. Did Armstrong lie to a Grand Jury? No.

Yep, same here. In fact, I consider pro sports a silly phrase. If it is pro, it is no longer the sport, but just entertainment business.
After all, the concept of a sport is where rules are followed to make it fair for all so that a contest can be engaged in. With the professionals, the goal is to win at whatever cost so that you can increase your earnings.
Sounds like business to me, not sports.

I'm not sure...did he used to ride for TMO? I'm gonna take a wild guess and predict that Slipstream/Chipotle will not be interested in him.
Wait...he does race bikes, right?
Who's Barry Bonds?
Just some dude that could hit a baseball. Then realized the harder he hit the ball the more we paid him. The more he got paid the more he hit. His best friend Greg said take this magic gel and rub it on yourself and you will hit more home runs and people will pay you more. Well now he has hit too many home runs and we want our money back so we can pay another dude named A-Rod to hit more.

There is sworn court testimony from four different people that Armstrong was doping prior to his cancer, and sworn admission from a US Postal coach of an active US Postal doping program.
Armstrong's lawyers had these tidbits sealed at the conclusion of the case. His lawyers also threatened to sue several US news agencies who have seen the leaked testimony. Only the CBC and BBC have done stories because Lance's goons have no legal power in those countries. Not quite the actions of someone with nothing to hide.
Regardless, America will still be the 'World Champions' of baseball.

Sworn court testimony has both been untrue and lied about throughout history...and what better lie can you tell but something that the person you are accusing can not prove? It is a win win for the lier....

That action was decided long before the indictment, therefor the indictment didn't cause it. Which are you saying is causal? Additionally, this symbolic and stupid qimmick could result in absolutely nothing depending on how Cooperstown reacts? Just because the get the marked ball doesn't mean they'll display it or even acknowledge it. Bonds has promised to never grace them with his ego if they show off the marked ball- a mild and egocentric threat but why risk it. MLB hasn't made an official comment. What a stupid and meaningless gesture.
I'll bet that it eventually does.
You'll bet that a indictment (not a verdict but an indictment) will eventually effect his baseball records? In a sport where there weren't rules against his doping during the time when he admits to having unknowingly (his claim not mine) taken BALCO products? Under what circumstances and under what rules will the MLB take action?
If Pete Rose still holds his records and MLB couldn't be more angry at him then Bonds certainly won't receive more wrath.
Isn't LA retired? Time to move on from that subject.

I was referring to the entire Bonds doping scandal. The indictment was a foregone conclusion already factored into the stock price dude. The tainted Bonds legacy makes the asterisk next to Maris' HR record seem rather microscopic. Does anybody outside of SF care if Barry doesn't ever show up at Cooperstown?
No.

'Waterboarding' does sound like a cool beach sport, not like the simulated near-drowning torture method that it is. It is astonishing to me that anyone considers this technique a 'debatable' form of torture. I get the sense that being personally exposed to this practice would quickly convince anyone who doubts that.

Hmmm, not taking the time to research, but waterboardings sounds almost like the dunking that they would give suspected witches. Witch hunts for suspected Islamic terrorist - yep, I can see that. You have the right to torture someone to prove that they are guilty.
Nothing new, and unfortunately it isn't new for us.
Now, back to Bonds - or frankly, who cares? I long time ago decided he could hit a million homeruns and I wouldn't be impressed with him - just with the science. After all, I might be able to create a bionic arm that could beat him.
Hmmm, that is a possiblity - chop off an arm and insert a bionic one. Win lots of money for tampering with my body. After all, lots of people lose their arm, in this way you would be a millionaire. Anyone complains and I will invoke the Disabilities Act. ;)
That is the reasoning here - sacrifice your body, your health, and perhaps your sanity to make a few million. It isn't only sports figures who do that.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but, not every conservative supports Bush. I don't trust him as far as I could throw Michael Moore. Also, I don't have a simplified, watered-down view on anything. If I don't understand something, I read until I do. I especially don't want to take someone's view as my own just because he/she said so.
