Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

That's just depressing. Doubly so that she had battled her whole life to overcome a prior incident.

I've got to stop visiting this part of the forum. It makes riding on the road look terribly stupid and just a matter of time until some fool driving a ton and a half car while not paying attention kills you and then, to top it off, nothing happens to them because you're a cyclist.

My point in bringing this to the forum's attention was that someone was actually charged with a felony this time. I had called the incident to everyone's attention in an earlier post where the article ended with the typical "No charges have been filed...accident under investigation" crap.

This is sad, particualrly the listing of folks killed recently while riding in the Charlotte area. Doubly sad considering their use of the bicycle for charitable pursuits.

If every US cyclist death was posted on BF-A&S there would be about two new threads a day. Multiply by the number of repeat threads and follow-up threads and there could be ten new threads a day.

Keep in mind if every US motorist death was posted here there would be well over a hundred new a day.

There can be threads to memorialize and threads to learn from the incident. Neither really help advocacy (there are some benefits, some negatives, perhaps the result is neutral), the later can potentially help with safety.
