How have I managed to go all this time without ever hearing of this forum? I have no idea, but I'm glad I've now discovered it. I'm looking forward to reading all you guys have to say.

I am Nancy. I am currently living and teaching school in Boise, Idaho - but only have another 7 months to go!! We will be taking off in June to ride from Alaska to Argentina with our twin boys. I am so psyched!! We recently returned home after one year on the road during which we pedaled 9300 miles through 19 US states and 4 Mexican states. My husband and kids rode on a triple bike, and I tagged along on a single. Our next trip will involve a tandem and two singles - the boys will switch back and forth between the tandem and single.

Glad to meet you all!!

Nancy

You are an adventurous lot! How old are the boys?

Good luck with the future trip, and do you have photos from the last one?

Welcome to BF!

Thanks for the welcome! Our boys are now 9 (will turn 10 in January). We do have a website with lots of photos and info - www.familyonbikes.com (http://www.familyonbikes.com)

(edited to add that we just made the decision to move our departure up by a year, and haven't gotten out webite updated to reflect that change. So - even though it says we still have 1 1/12 years before we leave, we really don't)

I enjoyed the description of your crossing the Narrows Bridge. You will be happy to know that if you ever come this way again, that the new bridge has a proper bike lane (separated from motorised traffic) that is reasonably wide.

Egads!! Did you have to remind me of that day?? Although I will say that we had stupendous views of the mountain!! Glad to hear they've improved things a bit.
