Hi,

Looking for all the advice I can get, as I'm new to cx and to building....

Lemond Poprad main frame (07 non-disk)
Ritchey comp carbon cross fork (or steel?)
Dia Comp 287 brake levers
DA bar end shifters
Avid Shorty 4s
King H.S.
Ritchey Pro stem
Ultegra F/D derailleurs
Ritchey Cross Pro Crankset
Mavic OPs w/ Ultegra

...any red flags or further suggestions?

Thanks!

Maybe a Ritchey compact crankset would give you more gearing options. Sometimes the build planning and build-up are half the fun:D

I'm definitely having fun with this and learning a bunch. The hardest part has been staying patient and finding the deals, though.

I was planning on going with the Ritchey V-Pro Cross Cranket which is 38/48.

There is no non-disc frameset in 07. That option starts with the white 08 frame.

I bought the frame from ebay and had the serial # confirmed by Trek. I think it was a warranty replacement for a pro that needed non-disc...

Lose the Avid brakes and use the Shimano Cantis instead.

do they squeel less than the avids? from reading some of the threads on this topic it seems that people have tried multiple solutions to varying success. but i'm all about finding a solution that requires less tinkering down the road.

The avid shorty's (4's or 6's) do have a hard time on the Mavic OP surface. I run them currently on my Redline, and am disappointed in its braking capabilities. However, my friend loves them on his Ksyrium Elites he runs. OP's have such a smooth brake surface, that the Canti's would probably be worth it.

Or pre-2007.

2007 was the one year (back to atleast 2003) that there was only a disc version.

the dia-compe 287's are unnecessary if you're running canti's. any regular road lever would pull the proper amount of cable. those levers are useful when trying to run linear pull v brakes with a road lever.
