As the title says, don't know when it ends, picked up 3 pairs for me and one for my dad for Christmas (4 pairs=$52).

Wow! Did you try your local Sporting goods. They probably have them for $8.99 a pair minus shipping

What? Sporting goods?? So "Sporting" is a proper noun... meaning it's a store called Sporting? I don't get it. Tell me where to get these socks for $9.

Look in the coupons forum. I just saw a link there to smartcasuals.com with a holiday coupon code. They don't have a terrific selection of Smartwool socks, but they might have what you're looking for and it looks like they have several styles on sale for $8.99, plus the coupon gets you an extra discount.

Folks, feel free to throw your money at Smartwool, they're a great company and they deserve it.

If you want warm feet but don't think you can afford wool, go to Costco, and get 4 pair of Merino Wool socks for $10. I find them just as soft as Smartwool.

Sierra Trading Post has em cheaper.

They are full price at local retail outlets. That's expensive.

+ 1 on the costco socks

I am wearing some now.

I got 8 pairs. washed them, and they are freaking comfy and warm.

I am gonna go get 8 more pair next visit. I am digging the costco socks (kirkland brand)
I think they are 71% MERINO WOOL - 21% NYLON - 7% POLYESTER - 1% LYCRA SPANDEX

it is becoming more apparent to me that costco doesn't carry much junk. almost everything
they have, is there because it is great product.

about the color. one pair of the 4 is slight brown, the other 3 pair are gray...they look similar
so when you grab them outta the pile it takes a second look to verify the color (for me anyway)

I like them because they are made in the USA.

I have always wondered if there was socks that compared to smartwools but are cheaper. It sounds like the Costco sock are nice. Is there any other brands?

I'm told they treat their employees fairly, too. What a novel idea!

+ 2 on the costco socks - $9.99 for 4 pair.

I got 8 pairs last year, they've worn great and are as good as the smartwools I have.

While I haven't tried costco socks, the elastic and construction of the smart wool socks support my feet very well. I love wearing them under hiking boots and my work boots with extra padding on top for the steel toe. Even bought some under-the-calves for my moto boots.

I have a bunch of generic socks that never get worn. If I need to layer I wear the smart wool as a liner and a thick generic over that.

I've bought mine through thesockcompany.com at 20% off and on ebay for even cheaper.

Don't have a costco membership or I'd at least try them out. Maybe find someone with a card to get me some for xmas.

I'm not a Costco member so I need to look elsewhere.

I found some nice heavy Woolrich 88% merino wool socks for about 7 bucks at WalMart. They kept me nice and toastie on a 20 degree ride this morning. :)

I've been buying and wearing Head brand merino wool socks for a couple years. I get them off of various sellers on Ebay. I commute five days a week, all season round, in Maine. I wear them on the bike and at my job as a freight unloader. I still have the first pair I bought and have never ever worn a pair out. Never had any holes, or seams come apart.
