I'm pretty new at all of this, but am in the process of building my first fixed gear. It started out as an old Shimano, all rusted up and everything. I stripped it down completely and am now painting the frame (2nd coat of primer went on today.) I have a decent front wheel for the bike, but need a new rear wheel. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what to get for a decent rear wheel. My wheel dimensions are 27 x 1 1/4. I would like to get a fixed cog for the hub and a lockring. I don't know if this matters either, but I plan to also ride a 1/8" chain. I would like to build this bike up for as cheaply as possible. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
