Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I reached a milestone today 4000 miles for the year.
I marked the occasion by buying a 16 lb t-giving turkey and transporting in home on my bike.
My goal for the year was 3000
I have chosen to increase my skiing (I got in 81 days), hiking, snow shoeing and XC skiing, 4000 for this year still keeps me above a 5000/yr average for past 5 years.

81 days skiing and 4000 miles on the bike - you gotta be retired.
I am lucky to get 2000 miles and 40 days of skiing, damn work gets in the way...

No I am not retired, retirement sounds terminal!

Yeh, me too. :D
Only, I'm part time.....I get less field work than you do...waaay less. :o
Happy Trails :)
30-40 years ago I guess I was also "recreational research specialist"....except I think it was called being a ski bum back then.
Skiing's a bit too far away now (3+ hours to the closest decent 'hill'). Gas is a killer also.
I've put way more miles on 2 bikes in the last 16 months than on my car (even counting driving to some organized rides 80 to 100 miles away). 5100+ so far this year.
