So this is what I'm thinking of doing. Performance just sent out a newsletter for 20% off for in store purchases next Friday and Saturday. And of course they price match, plus there's a $75 rebate from Garmin. Also Geoman has the 305 for $235.

So, performance price matches $235 (just an FYI, I like Geoman, bought my dinotte from him)

minus 20%, $235-$47=$188

Take off $75 for rebate

$188-$75=$113

Of course there's sales tax here in NC, don't know what it is but can't be more than 10%. So grand total is less than $125!

Hmm, maybe time to get one.

Garmin is going to release the new versions of the edge (605 & 705) around December. I am pretty sure the price of 305 and the 205 will drop even more if you can wait.

I will probably sell my 305 and upgrade to the 705. Color screen baby!!!

I'm not liking the prices (MSRP) for the 605 & 705

For a while Costco was also carring the Edge 205. They had a pretty good deal, it was around $130-$135 (about 6 months ago).

Sorry to burst your balloon, but according to their customer service line (I just called) Performance won't allow you to price match and use the 20% off at the same time. Maybe you can get away with it if you find some salesperson who doesn't know what they're doing, but there's no guarantee.

If you can do without the bike specific features & what seems to be a odometer bug misreporting reporting trip distance REI.com has this as I posted on another forum.

Garmin eTrex Vista HCX is currently on sale for $219.99 at REI.com minus $25 with coupon code WMPRT7 plus tax if you have an REI store in your state & free ship to store otherwise shipping is around $12. My total was $211.56 shipped to store in IL. Expected pick-up date Dec. 5th.
